NORTON RECEIVES HILLMAN ENDORSEMENT

Tuesday, February 09, 2010

(BURLINGTON) – Former Colorado State Treasurer Mark Hillman has announced his endorsement of former Lieutenant Governor Jane Norton for the United States Senate. Hillman and Norton spent Monday traveling the Eastern Plains to announce the endorsement, with stops in Fort Morgan, Yuma, Burlington, and Flagler.

"Over the past decade, Jane Norton has gained a well-deserved reputation as a principled, conservative leader,” commented Hillman. “She is a true conservative, and she'll take her Colorado common sense to the U.S. Senate where it is so needed."

Burlington native Hillman, a wheat farmer by trade, formerly served as State Treasurer after seven years in the state senate, where he was elected as majority leader.

Colorado’s farmers and ranchers who make a living off the land are the best environmentalists our state has, and Mark Hillman has been an unwavering advocate for their way of life,” said Norton. “His endorsement carries with it a great responsibility to stand up for Colorado’s rural communities, and that’s exactly what I’ll do as a U.S. Senator.

Other Norton endorsers include former Senator Bill Armstrong, former Governor Bill Owens, former Senator Hank Brown, Mesa County Commissioner Janet Rowland, and Colorado Senate Minority Leader Josh Penry.
